Transportation Security Officer

Location: West Northumberland County (Millbrook)

Transportation Security Officer (TSO)  Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) screen passengers and baggage at airport security checkpoints, verify IDs and boarding passes, and assist travelers to move smoothly through security. TSOs are customer-facing, non-armed employees who perform pat-downs, bag searches, and monitor secure areas.
Position Details   Openings:
Multiple positions nationwide
Starting Pay: $22.00-$44.00 per hour (varies by airport)
Annual Compensation: $45,760-$65,341+ per year (start-up) + full federal benefits

Schedule:

Shifts set by the airport; may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime

Key Responsibilities   Screen passengers, carry-on items, and checked baggage using security technology such as wands, X-ray machines, and other tools.
Check IDs and boarding passes, answer questions, and help travelers move through lines quickly and efficiently.
Perform pat-downs and bag searches when alarms trigger or items require closer inspection.
Monitor and control access to secure areas, following TSA procedures at all times.
Qualifications   No prior security experience required.
Willingness to pass TSA's Computer-based Test (CBT) and complete the hiring process.
Strong customer-service skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
