Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and observant Live Video Monitoring Supervisor to lead real‑time video intelligence operations focused on crime prevention, threat deterrence, and incident response. This role blends technology‑enabled monitoring, analytical thinking, and rapid decision‑making in a control‑room environment. You will identify emerging risks, intervene using on‑site audio deterrence when appropriate, and coordinate response actions, including communication with law enforcement when required.

Ideal for someone who stays calm under pressure, thinks critically, and takes decisive action in fast‑paced situations.

Starting Wage:  $26.67+RSP

Key Responsibilities

Monitor live video feeds using surveillance platforms, analytics, and AI‑assisted detection tools.

Identify suspicious activity and execute established prevention and response procedures.

Deliver verbal deterrence messaging through on‑site audio systems when appropriate.

Assess evolving situations and determine appropriate escalation steps.

Communicate directly with law enforcement and emergency services when required.

Maintain situational awareness across multiple sites and camera views simultaneously.

Document incidents, observations, and actions accurately in reporting systems.

Verify alerts generated by detection and analytics software.

Remain professional and composed during live or high‑pressure incidents.

Follow all data security, confidentiality, and operational integrity standards.

Report system issues or process gaps impacting monitoring effectiveness.

Required

Skills & Qualifications

Valid BC Security Worker License (Security Guard/Security Alarm Monitor) or willingness to obtain.

Have or be able to obtain a Government of Canada level II (Secret) security clearance.

Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor multiple feeds simultaneously.

Sound decision‑making skills and ability to apply procedures consistently.

Clear, confident verbal communication skills.

Ability to remain calm and effective during time‑sensitive situations.

Comfortable working with technology‑driven monitoring systems.

Strong written communication for accurate incident reporting.

Ability to follow structured procedures while adapting to dynamic environments.

Professionalism, discretion, and reliability.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
