Entry Level Police Officer Trainee

Begin your career in law enforcement as an Entry Level Police Officer Trainee with the University of the Pacific. This position focuses on P.O.S.T. Basic Academy training and campus safety responsibilities.

This non-sworn entry level role is perfect for those aspiring to become sworn Police Officers. You will engage in comprehensive training at the P.O.S.T. Basic Academy, covering academic, defensive tactics, and physical skills essential for police work. Your duties will include patrolling campus areas, assisting visitors, enforcing laws, and participating in community relations activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend P.O.S.T. Basic Academy and pass all requirements

• Patrol campus using vehicles, bicycles, and foot patrols

• Enforce City, County, and State laws, plus University policies

• Conduct investigations and assist in crime prevention initiatives

• Provide direction and information to staff, students, and visitors

Requirements:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required

• Must be at least 21 years old

• Valid California driver’s license with a clean record

• U.S. citizen or eligible permanent resident

• No felony convictions
