Security Guard - Healthcare

Healthcare environments require a unique balance of vigilance, empathy, and quick thinking. As a Healthcare Security Guard, you will play a vital role in protecting patients, clinical staff, and visitors. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to serve the La Crête community by maintaining a peaceful, secure environment so healthcare professionals can deliver care with peace of mind.

Success in this role means being a reassuring presence, anticipating safety hazards, and responding calmly to emerging situations. On a day-to-day basis, you will:

Patrol facility grounds on foot and by vehicle to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized access.

Assist visitors, patients, and healthcare staff with an approachable, professional demeanor.

Respond swiftly to calls for help, security alerts, and emergency situations.

Liaise with emergency services, including police, fire, and paramedics, when required.

Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic at designated access points.

Maintain thorough site logs and write clear, factual incident reports.

Safeguard confidential information in compliance with privacy guidelines.

We provide clear, fair compensation alongside practical support for your daily work:

Pay Rate: $26.01 per hour

On-Demand Pay: Access to Daily Pay, allowing you to draw earned wages before payday

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following mandatory criteria:

Valid Alberta Security License (or the ability to obtain one prior to employment).

Current First Aid and CPR Level C certification.

Valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to a personal, reliable vehicle.

Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Physical fitness required to walk 18 to 20 km per shift and climb stairs.

Full availability for a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Previous experience in security, customer service, or a healthcare setting.

Strong conflict resolution and verbal de-escalation skills.

Solid writing skills for producing detailed incident reports.

Demonstrated ability to stay composed and make sound decisions in high-stress situations.
