Culturally Safe Referral Specialist

Location: Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands

Become an Information and Referral Specialist at Wiikwemkoong Child and Family Services, where you will play a key role in supporting families. Engage with community members through various inquiries, ensuring accurate program information and strong referral processes.

In this position, you'll advocate for child and family matters in accordance with Anishnaabe values. Your responsibilities include collaborating with program teams and managing referral documentation while maintaining confidentiality. The role encompasses direct communication and building positive relationships with families and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to inquiries through phone, email, and in-person

• Initiate appropriate referrals based on client needs

• Document and follow up on all referrals accurately

• Work collaboratively with program teams and partners

• Participate in team meetings and service discussions

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience

• Familiarity with Indigenous culture and community dynamics

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Understanding of child welfare systems

• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
