As an Employment Counsellor for the WorkBC Centre, you will provide essential career guidance to Indigenous communities. You will employ a trauma-informed approach in your counseling, assisting clients in identifying barriers to employment and referring them to appropriate resources for continued support. Your work will involve delivering Mobile Services to diverse catchment areas, ensuring holistic and effective client engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide career counseling to Indigenous clients

• Deliver Mobile Services in identified catchment areas

• Use a trauma-informed perspective for goal-setting

• Assist with training and self-employment applications

• Identify and clarify barriers to employment

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in relevant fields

• Minimum 1-year experience with vulnerable populations

• Knowledge of Indigenous communities’ contexts

• Experience in career planning and assessment tools

• Strong communication and case management skills
