Community Corrections Worker

Position: Full-Time Community Corrections Worker
Location: Northwestern Ontario (Red Lake)

Join Grand Council Treaty #3 Kaakewaaseya Justice Services as a full-time Community Corrections Worker focused on culturally-rooted support. Work collaboratively to assist clients navigating probation and reintegration processes.

This role involves partnering with the Probation and Parole Officer to deliver trauma-informed and culturally relevant services. You will support clients from the Treaty#3 Territory, including those on probation and released individuals, by connecting them with essential community resources and services for successful reintegration. Your focus will be on reducing recidivism through culturally appropriate programming.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide client-centered cultural case management

• Connect clients to community support services

• Assist clients in reducing re-offending risk

• Organize culturally relevant community programs

• Guide clients through their justice system navigation

Requirements:

• Background in Law, Social Work, or related fields

• Understanding of Aboriginal culture and traditions

• Experience in counseling and crisis intervention

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Self-motivated with a team-oriented spirit
