Position: Community Focused Probation Officer Role
Location: Central Northwest Territories (Inuvik)

Make a difference as a Probation Officer reporting to the Regional Probation Manager. This role involves community-level supervision and assessments of adult and young offenders under conditional releases.

As a Probation Officer, you will work closely with various agencies, including the RCMP and Social Services. Managing a caseload with diverse offenders requires skills in conflict resolution, community corrections techniques, and interpersonal communication. Your ability to assess human behavior will be essential in effectively supervising offenders in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with facilities, Crown, and counseling resources

• Conduct community visits and facility checks

• Oversee offenders under conditional releases

• Prepare reports and court documents

• Implement programs for offender rehabilitation

Requirements:

• Diploma in Social Sciences and two years of experience

• Understanding of community corrections policies

• Strong leadership and team-building skills

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

• Satisfactory criminal records check

Drive effective community supervision and support the rehabilitation process as a Probation Officer.
