Temporary Special Services Counsellor Oxford

Location: South Leeds and Grenville United Counties (Prescott)

Make a difference as a Temporary Special Services Counsellor at the Upper Canada District School Board in Oxford. This role involves crisis intervention, assessments, and support for students’ mental health and well-being.

Reporting to the Chief Psychologist, you will provide essential links between students, families, and community partners. With a focus on mental health and attendance concerns, this position necessitates effective assessments and interventions to enhance student success. Strong communication and organizational skills are critical as you manage a varied caseload across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide multi-level service delivery to support student achievement

• Act as case manager for high-risk students and families

• Collaborate with agencies for student intervention plans

• Respond to crisis situations as needed

• Facilitate alternative education placements and support

Requirements:

• University degree in Social Work

• Minimum 5 years experience in related counselling roles

• Proven crisis intervention skills

• Strong organizational and case management abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and communication tools
