Empowering Women's Outreach Counsellor

Location: Lake Simcoe West Shore (Oro)

Be part of HURONIA TRANSITION HOMES as an Outreach Counsellor dedicated to empowering women survivors of sexual abuse. Deliver counselling via in-person, virtual, or phone while focusing on intersectional feminist frameworks.

As Outreach Counsellor, you will provide critical counselling services that enhance women's understanding of trauma's impact. Your responsibilities include creating safe environments, developing personalized goals, and collaborating with community resources. Working closely with women, you will advocate for their needs and support their journeys toward healing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide trauma-informed individual counselling services

• Empower women through personal action plans

• Advocate and connect women with community resources

• Record stats and participate in program evaluation

• Facilitate group sessions as needed

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in social work preferred

• 3-5 years relevant counselling experience

• Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and feminist practices

• Certification in First Aid/CPR

• Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities
