We open doors for youth and prevent adult homelessness. We serve at‑risk youth experiencing homelessness, aging out of care, or fleeing violence in the home. Young adults who need a place to call home and people who believe in them. We offer safe housing, community, and support to help youth make healthy choices and shift toward a brighter future.
Position Overview
The Rover position will be providing support to youth in our Supportive Housing Program. The goal of the program is to provide housing and support for youth who are MCFD involved. The role is to support youth in various ways, with a focus on driving youth to and from appointments. This position will work in a team environment utilizing a holistic approach to support each youth's individual needs around mental health, life skills, community supports, housing and other identified areas.
This is a full‑time temporary position from June 2026 to April 2027, 10‑hour shifts, from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm, working Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and every second Thursday. The wage range for this position is $26.74 - $31.00 per hour, dependent on experience and related skills. The successful candidate can expect to enter the organization no higher than the midpoint of the compensation range.
Education & Experience
Possess a relevant bachelor's degree such as Social Work or Child & Youth Care and have a minimum of 1‑2 years' experience working with vulnerable populations and at‑risk youth. Other combinations of education, experience and training may be considered.
Experience facilitating programming is an asset.
ASIST training.
NVCI training.
Working Conditions
This position routinely travels between Society locations to support operational needs and ensure appropriate program coverage.
Travel between sites is an expected and ongoing responsibility of the role; ability to work independently and as a member of a wraparound care team.
Threshold will provide a yearly training and professional development allowance.
Special Requirements
Up‑to‑date Emergency 1st Aid certificate.
Food Safe Certificate.
Immunization record, including TB testing.
Must have a Criminal Record Review Check completed by and satisfactory to Threshold as well as sign Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement.
Possesses a valid Class 5 Driver’s License, Clean Driver’s Abstract and has a reliable vehicle.
