At IDM Youth Services (IDMYS) we believe that all people have the right to live in a safe, stable, supportive environment. IDMYS provides all-inclusive care in a residential setting to one of the most vulnerable populations, at-risk children and youth. All-inclusive care is everything from cooking, cleaning, driving to and from appointments, administering medications, offering emotional and behavioral support, going on fun outings, and more!

We are currently looking for Full-Time and Part-Time Residence Child and Youth Workers tojoin our amazing team! Preference for Applicants who are able to work weekends.
Candidates must be local to Vancouver Island to be considered.

Compensation, hours, and location:
The Residence Child and Youth Worker is Grid 11, Compensation starts at and requires union membership.
Shifts are either 7:30am-3:30pm or 3:30pm-11:30pm, and positions are set by the agency at locations in the Westshore and Sooke.
Who We’re Looking For:
Candidates who are looking to contribute to the growth and development of others, have a passion for helping others, and have experience working with at-risk children and youth. Candidates who are looking to grow their career in the social services field.
Candidates who are positive, empathetic, and hard working.

Qualification Requirements:
Two years recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must be 19 years or older.
The equivalent to a Class 5 Driver’s license required.
Must obtain and maintain screening through the MCFD and the Ministry of Justice.
Prior to confirmation of employment all applicants must complete screening through the Ministry of Justice and a Ministry Check. This requires applicants to provide police clearances from any country lived in outside of Canada for 6 or more month since turning 18. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to obtain, please ensure you prepare accordingly.
