Position: Full-Time Housing Intern at Sheguiandah
Location: Manitoulin (Little Current)

Join Sheguiandah First Nation as a full-time Housing Intern and help enhance community housing initiatives. This role is tailored for Indigenous youth eager to make a difference in housing and development.

This internship, reporting to the Housing Manager, is a unique learning experience for Indigenous youth interested in community service, housing policies, and administration. Interns will engage in essential tasks like data collection, housing inspections, and community planning to drive positive change. This experience is foundational for a budding career in First Nation governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support operational tasks in the Housing Department

• Assist with data organization and housing assessments

• Collaborate on developing policies and community initiatives

• Attend community consultations and housing events

• Prepare reports and facilitate tenant communication

Requirements:

• Self-identify as Indigenous with local preference

• Aged 18–30 with relevant educational background

• Must not be concurrently employed

• Valid Ontario Driver’s License required

• First Aid and CPR certification beneficial
