Drop-in Caseworker

Position: Drop-in Support Caseworker Role
Location: Lake Simcoe Southeast Shore (Sutton West)

Join the team at The Salvation Army as a Case Worker in the Drop-in Centre, providing vital support to homeless youth. Foster a nurturing environment that promotes growth and stability.

In your role, you will assist clients under 25 in navigating the challenges of homelessness by offering access to essential services and creating engaging programming. The position involves advocating for clients, conducting safety checks, and maintaining thorough documentation. Your contributions will empower youth to work toward achieving their personal goals, helping them secure housing and develop life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe and private environment for drop-in youth

• Orient clients about available resources and services

• Advise on Drop-in Centre expectations and guidelines

• Provide one-on-one support and crisis intervention

• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements:

• Completion of a college diploma in Social Sciences

• Experience working with youth at risk of homelessness

• Understanding of anti-racism and equity practices

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities

• Must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
