Anishinaabe Community Wellness Worker

Location: Northwestern Ontario (Red Lake)

Step into a vital role with Anishinaabe Abinoojii Family Services as a Community Wellness Worker, enhancing overall wellness in First Nation communities. This position focuses on culturally driven initiatives that support mental and physical health.

In this full-time contract role based in Kenora/Dryden, you will develop and implement community wellness programs while engaging with families and service providers. Your responsibilities include facilitating workshops, advocating for community needs, and collaborating to strengthen community resilience. You will work to promote traditional practices as core to wellness, while also maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver community wellness programs that promote health

• Engage with families to assess wellness needs

• Facilitate cultural workshops and activities

• Collaborate with local organizations and providers

• Maintain program records and outcomes

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or relevant diploma

• Experience in community or social services

• Understanding of issues facing First Nations families

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
