Position: Cultural Communities Navigator for Dementia
Location: Northeastern Alberta (Fort Chipewyan)

Join the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories as a Cultural Communities Navigator, focusing on South Asian communities. Provide vital dementia awareness and support through outreach and education initiatives.

This full-time position emphasizes building relationships with community organizations, seniors’ groups, and healthcare providers. You will engage families in navigating dementia-related resources while organizing tailored information sessions and workshops in Punjabi and Hindi. Collaboration with partners enhances access to culturally relevant services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build strong connections with South Asian community organizations

• Organize workshops and support groups for families

• Deliver dementia awareness sessions in Punjabi and Hindi

• Coordinate referral systems and client support services

• Maintain accurate client records and facilitate follow-ups

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in Social Work or related field

• Fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi

• Experience in community engagement and public speaking

• Knowledge of dementia care and services

• Valid driver’s license and clear criminal record check
