Join the Government of Yukon as an Auxiliary Transitional Support Worker in Whitehorse. Deliver trauma-informed care to youth at therapeutic homes while adapting to their unique needs.
As part of our Transitional Support Services, we are looking for compassionate workers committed to aiding children and youth coping with trauma. This position requires creativity, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively during crises. Your understanding of Yukon First Nation culture will enhance your role within our supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement individualized care plans for clients
• Assist in daily living and life skills development
• Engage youth in therapeutic and recreational activities
• Maintain a calm demeanor during crisis situations
• Collaborate with team members to foster client support
Requirements:
• Relevant post-secondary education or training
• Experience with youth presenting adaptive behaviors
• Knowledge of adverse childhood experiences
• Strong decision-making and communication skills
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends
Support the youth of Yukon by providing dedicated care and understanding in this vital role.
