Community Harm Reduction - Ontario

Become a Community Harm Reduction Worker with Weeneebayko Area Health Authority in Fort Albany, ON. Engage in impactful outreach to promote wellness and harm reduction.

In this full-time position, you will work closely with Indigenous communities to enhance services related to substance use and mental health. You will connect with individuals in various environments and lead educational efforts on harm reduction practices. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Connect with individuals across schools, shelters, and homes

• Increase community awareness of wellness resources

• Distribute harm reduction supplies including Naloxone

• Educate on safer substance use and their practices

• Engage individuals with lived experience for program development

Requirements:

• Secondary school completion and relevant qualifications

• Degree or certificate in social services or equivalent

• G Driver’s License with travel capability

• Asset:
Cree language communication skills

• Flexible working hours for community events
