Position: Indigenous Child and Youth Counsellor Role

Carrier Sekani Family Services is seeking a full-time Mental Health Counsellor specializing in children and youth. Join us in Vanderhoof, Fort St. James, Takla Landing, or Burns Lake and make a community impact.

Serve as an essential part of a multidisciplinary team providing mental health services within First Nations contexts. This role requires expertise in social work or clinical psychology and will focus on culturally sensitive practices to meet the needs of diverse youth populations. Bring your two years of relevant experience to contribute to meaningful community-based outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide culturally informed mental health support

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals

• Cater to the specific needs of First Nations youth

• Engage in community outreach and education

• Ensure compliance with professional standards and registration

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Clinical Psychology

• Registration with BCASW, ICBOC, ACCT, or CPCA

• Two years of relevant experience in mental health

• Understanding of Indigenous community health issues

• Embrace values of compassion and integrity in practice
