Mental Health Crisis RPN in Haliburton

Location: Central

Support individuals in crisis as a Registered Practical Nurse with the Mobile Crisis Intervention Team in Haliburton. This role, focused on mental health intervention, collaborates closely with local authorities and health services.

As an RPN on the MCIT, you will respond to police calls, provide immediate crisis intervention, and perform assessments of mental health needs for clients. Your efforts will facilitate timely support and connect individuals to essential resources, thus minimizing reliance on police intervention during crises. Additionally, you will document interactions and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside police officers in crisis situations

• Conduct assessments and de-escalation strategies

• Link clients with health and community services

• Administer medications as ordered

• Ensure thorough documentation of each client interaction

Requirements:

• Registered Practical Nurse credential with CNO

• A minimum of three years nursing experience

• Familiarity with mental health care legislation

• Experience in crisis management and intervention

• Valid driver’s license and successful police screening
