Position: Homeless Outreach Worker at BC Housing
Location: Smithers

Provide essential support as a Homelessness Outreach Worker with BC Housing located in Smithers, BC. This full-time role focuses on assisting individuals navigating homelessness within the community.

Reporting to the Coordinated Access and Assessment Manager, you will play a pivotal role in connecting people with necessary housing services and resources. Your work will involve collaborating with various service providers and participating in a regional response team to address homelessness effectively. Your commitment and experience will directly contribute to positive community outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Connect vulnerable individuals with appropriate resources

• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams

• Implement de-escalation techniques during crisis

• Engage with community partners to enhance support

• Maintain comprehensive records of outreach efforts

Requirements:

• High School diploma and social service courses

• Experience working with homeless populations

• Knowledge of community resources and housing services

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license necessary
