Location: Lillooet
Position Summary
The LBH Assistant will work with the LBH Coordinator in the delivery of land-based healing activities to facilitate the connection to the land, culture and language. The scope of LBH includes prevention, intervention, and aftercare to address issues related to the intergenerational impacts associated with residential schools, etc.
Key Responsibilities- Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of LBH workplan and activities.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships to coordinate the LBH program.
- Work with all ages and multigenerational families in support of clients to identify and define their own treatment goals relevant to their circumstances.
- Participate in events and gatherings assisting with set up and take down.
- Manage and maintain the LBH program equipment and supplies.
- Data gathering for the purpose of program reporting and evaluations.
- Works to ensure a culturally safe program respecting the privacy and confidentiality of individuals who participate.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge and experience with St’át’imc culture, language, and protocols.
- Experience in working with indigenous people and organizations.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Physically fit and have a self-care plan in place.
- Work as a team and independently.
- Must be able to travel to and work in remote areas.
- Work flexible hours with some evenings and weekends.
- Current Criminal Records Check working with vulnerable individuals.
- Valid BC driver’s license and vehicle.
SALARY: $23- $26 dependent upon education and experience.
Pursuant to section 41 of the British Columbia Human Rights Code, preference will be given to applicants of St’át’imc or Indigenous Ancestry.
