Location: Mount Currie
Make an impact as a Transition House Support Worker in Child & Family Services, delivering critical support and crisis intervention for First Nation community members. This casual position focuses on enhancing residents' well-being and resource access.
Reporting to the Transition House Supervisor, this worker provides essential shelter services, crisis intervention, and resource referrals within the community. You will engage with residents, ensuring their needs are met while maintaining the property and tracking behavioral responses. Your ability to connect clients with social services, medical aid, and counseling support is vital for their progress.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain the upkeep and cleanliness of the facility
• Assist residents in various daily activities and tasks
• Connect clients to social service resources as needed
• Track and chart client behaviors and responses
• Provide transportation for clients to appointments
Requirements:
• Background in Social Work or Child & Youth Care preferred
• Experience in social services or volunteer work may substitute education
• Effective conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
• Strong communication skills in English
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s license and clear Driver’s Abstract
