Position: Access Worker for Child and Family Programs

Become an Access Support Worker with the Department of Opportunities and Social Development, aiming to uplift vulnerable families in Nova Scotia. This relief role encompasses supportive transport in Granville Ferry, Digby, and Yarmouth.

As an Access Support Worker, your responsibilities include delivering safe transport services for children and youth and facilitating positive family interactions under the guidance of social workers. You will contribute to the Child and Family Wellbeing Programs by documenting important occurrences and raising issues as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport children for appointments and family visits

• Ensure safety and support during interactions

• Document all transportation interactions accurately

• Work collaboratively with social service staff

• Assist in operational tasks of access services

Requirements:

• Diploma in related child and youth care fields

• 2 years related experience supporting families

• Valid driver's license with a dependable vehicle

• Professional communication in sensitive contexts

• Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules
