We are a non-prop society providing emergency shelter and support services for women, with or without children, who are fleeing intimate partner violence and abuse. As a vibrant and collaborative community, we are seeking exceptional, mission-driven individuals to join our team and help us grow as we work toward ending intimate partner violence. This role is responsible for delivering services that provide short-term protective accommodation and outreach support on an emergency, crisis-intervention basis, primarily to high-risk women and children.

The position combines front-line crisis response with program facilitation to support client safety, empowerment, and personal growth.

The Crisis Intake and Outreach Worker with a Program Facilitation Component is responsible for providing front-line, client-centered support to women experiencing crisis, vulnerability, and complex life challenges. This position serves as a critical point of contact for women seeking assistance, ensuring timely intake, assessment, and connection to appropriate supports and resources. Working within a low-barrier, trauma-informed framework, the worker builds respectful, trust-based relationships while addressing immediate needs related to safety, housing stability, health, and overall well-being.

In addition to crisis intake and outreach responsibilities, this role includes the development and facilitation of targeted programming designed to support women’s personal growth, stability, and empowerment. The worker engages clients through structured and informal interventions, promotes harm reduction principles, supports case planning, and collaborates with internal teams and external service providers. The position requires sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively in dynamic, high-stress environments while maintaining professional boundaries, ethical standards, and confidentiality.

• Provides front-line, client-centered support to women experiencing crisis, vulnerability, and complex life challenges.
• Engages women using a low-barrier, trauma-informed, and harm reduction approach.
• Establishes respectful, trust-based relationships to support client safety, stability, and well-being.
• Assesses immediate and ongoing needs, including safety, housing, health, and social supports.
• Conducts outreach, client engagement, and follow-up to promote continuity of care and service access.
• Develops, implements, and facilitates targeted programming that supports women’s personal growth, empowerment, and life skills development.
• Supports case planning, goal setting, and collaborative problem solving.
• Knowledge of low-barrier service delivery, harm reduction principles, trauma-informed practice, substance use issues, mental health concerns, domestic violence dynamics, and the unique challenges faced by marginalized women.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries with women clients while applying personal self-care strategies to sustain effectiveness and emotional resilience.
• Ability to manage conflict effectively, maintain calm and tactful composure under challenging circumstances, and adapt approaches in dynamic or high-stress environments.
• Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate targeted programming for women impacted by domestic violence, trauma, and social instability.
