Transport Drivers

Chipewyan Lake, Alberta or Wabasca, Alberta

Bigstone Medical Transport Ltd. is seeking Two (2) experienced, highly motivated, and dependable Transport Drivers to join our talented team. This is a rewarding opportunity if you have an appreciation for First Nation culture, a desire for continuing professional development, and enjoy the support and collaboration from our multidisciplinary team and various other professionals and agencies.

• Transport individuals within the community of Chipewyan Lake to and from Wabasca or Slave Lake
• Maintain strict confidentiality of individuals information
• Ensure cleanliness of vehicle, and report any inspections or maintenance required
• Must ensure vehicle is equipped with emergency aid items at all times
• Assist handicapped and elderly in and out of vehicle
• Take direction from Bigstone Group of Companies, Chief Executive Officer as to the coordination of trips
• Must follow all transportation safety rules and regulations
• Must clean vehicle daily, and report any problems with vehicle as necessary
• Familiarity with geographical locations of Chipewyan Lake and other surrounding areas
• Able to handle a position of conflicting demands and professionalism at all times
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Training will be provided
• Other duties as required

• Valid Class 1, 2 or 4 Driver’s license
• Excellent communication, oral, and written skills
• Able to speak and understand the Cree language is an asset
• High School Education
• Standard First Aid/ CPR (current)
• Must reside in Chipewyan Lake, AB or Wabasca, AB
• Must have an up to date:
  Cover Letter, Resume (including 3 work related references), Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check & Child & Youth Intervention Check.
