Seasonal Maintenance Worker Equipment Operator

Location: Ontario Centre (Queensville)

York Region is seeking a seasonal Transportation Maintenance Worker to ensure safe roads. In this casual/on-call role, you will operate heavy machinery and assist with maintenance activities across multiple locations.

This temporary full-time role focuses on equipment operation and manual labor tasks essential for maintaining the York Region road system. As part of a dedicated team, you will report to the District Roads Supervisor and engage in road safety efforts during shift work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment like loaders and trucks

• Perform regular road maintenance tasks

• Assist in repairs to signage and drainage systems

• Ensure all operations meet safety standards

• Communicate effectively with team and public

Requirements:

• Valid Ontario Class DZ driver’s licence

• Secondary School diploma or equivalent experience

• Proficient with heavy-duty equipment

• Familiarity with road maintenance protocols

• Ability to work flexible shifts in adverse conditions
