About the Role
Ready Mix Drivers are responsible for the primary day‑to‑day delivery of Ready Mix Concrete to job sites within the Medicine Hat area, homeowner and industry clients. In this role you will manage customer relationships, provide friendly service, and ensure customers receive high‑level delivery and product from Amrize. This customer‑facing role requires a service‑oriented mindset and a highly professional approach.
Responsibilities- Maintain equipment by performing daily pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and keeping equipment clean inside and out.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with customers in the assigned geography.
- Own the satisfaction of these customers and ensure consistent, reliable customer service through delivery.
- Deliver a positive, hassle‑free experience for Amrize customers.
- Navigate Medicine Hat and surrounding areas to maintain on‑time deliveries.
- Maintain strong working relationships with logistics, operations, and fellow operators.
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekend and evening shifts.
- Understand and follow traffic rules and regulations for a commercial vehicle and remain courteous on the road.
- Operate electronic devices such as tablets and GPS.
- Complete the Amrize Ready Mix Training Program.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies and promote a safety culture.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Required training/certifications:
Class 3Q (Air Brakes) or Class 1Q – 5‑year driver’s abstract (required to be sent with resume). - Preference for candidates with construction and heavy equipment experience.
- Manual‑shift truck transmission driving ability (not a car).
- Construction and off‑road experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of the city of Medicine Hat.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform tasks on electronic devices such as tablets.
- Relationship‑building skills with external customers and internal Amrize personnel.
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making ability.
- Multitasking in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong sense of teamwork.
- Ability to lift > 50 lbs.
