Position: Highway Maintenance Driver on Cortes Island
Location: North Central Island and Bute Inlet Region (Gold River)

Join Mainroad North Island Contracting as a Highway Maintenance Driver in Cortes Island this spring/summer. Deliver safe, reliable highways by managing road maintenance tasks and driving essential equipment.

Mainroad Group is seeking dedicated Highway Maintenance Driver/Labourers for casual work out of Cortes Island. This role requires a Class 1 or 3 driver’s license, as well as the ability to work shifts, including graveyard hours. You’ll be responsible for tasks such as pothole patching, snow plowing, and operating trucks to haul materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sand and salt highways during snow events

• Clear litter, debris, and roadkill from roads

• Operate trucks for material hauling

• Perform road maintenance like pothole patching

• Assist in vegetation clearing and other tasks

Requirements:

• Class 1 or 3 driver's license with Air Brake Endorsement

• Willingness to work in extreme weather

• Previous highway maintenance experience is a plus

• Strong mechanical skills and quick learner

• Positive attitude and strong communication skills
