Inter-Facility Transport Porter Position

Location: North Island, Sunshine Coast, and Southern Gulf Islands (Whistler)

Act as a vital link in healthcare at Island Health as an Inter-Facility Porter at Port Hardy Hospital. This role ensures the safe transport of patients and essential medical items.

As an Inter-Facility Porter, you will be guided by the Logistics Manager and use a computerized dispatch system for transporting patients and supplies. Your work will include administering first aid, managing equipment logistics, and keeping accurate records. A tidy workspace and safety awareness are paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in transporting patients and their belongings

• Manage logistics for medical supplies and equipment

• Clean and maintain medical rolling stock

• Document all transportation activities accurately

• Provide first aid support when necessary

Requirements:

• Grade 10 education plus one year of relevant experience

• Valid B.C. Class 4 Driver's License required

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Ability to perform physical tasks required

• Experience with computer-based systems
