About this position
Pacific Northwest Transportation Services (PNWTS) is the proud supplier of carbon-neutral transportation services for the cruise industry in Victoria, British Columbia.
As the exclusive supplier of buses on behalf of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA), PNWTS provides motor coaches and double-decker buses for shore excursion tours and shuttle connections for cruise lines and is the sole provider of dispatch services on the Terminal.
We are looking for an energetic and positive individual to join our Flagging team during the season (April - October).Wage:$30.43/hr Job Types: Part-time seasonal
Job Description:
Direct driver & pedestrian traffic in accordance with site safety regulations to ensure a safe and organized terminal operation.
Your Work Will Include:
Managing the flow of vehicle, tour bus, and pedestrian traffic in and out of terminal entrances in a safe manner, including directing and controlling traffic on roads leading to and from the terminal
Executing an effective traffic management plan with appropriate equipment
Effective communications to control the flow of traffic
Fills in and performs the responsibilities of Ground Transportation Control as needed

What We Will Like
About You:
You possess a valid Traffic Control Certificate (Required) with a sound knowledge of local traffic regulations and have the ability to use hand signals and directional equipment to coordinate traffic flows
You can stand for extended periods, regardless of weather conditions
You are available to work a variety of shifts, with adaptable scheduling
You demonstrate excellent communication and observational skills and work effectively in a team environment and conduct tasks in a polite and professional manner
You are legally entitled to work in Canada
