Position Overview:
The Aircraft De-icer, reporting to the Deicing Operations Manager, will work as part of a team to safely and efficiently operate aircraft de-icing trucks for the purpose of de-icing aircraft during inclement weather while ensuring the well-being of self and all internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
Uphold and follow the duties related to de/anti-icing aircraft according to procedures for both airlines and participate in pre-planning for de/anti-icing and ADF recovery events by performing checks on equipment and servicing equipment with fuel or glycol;
Operate equipment within close proximity to airfield personnel, aircraft and other airfield equipment safely and efficiently;
Be alert and aware of other apron traffic, and to only begin de-icing when it can be done safely without interfering with aircraft movement. AIRCRAFT ALWAYS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY;
Promptly and accurately complete all associated paperwork as required;
Professionally communicate with aircraft operators (pilots), spraying operators, GRV operators, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner via two-way radio;
Ensure proper shutdown of pads, including paperwork and logbooks; that all maintenance issues have been logged and reported to maintenance and all proper shutdown procedures for the equipment are followed;
Testing of aircraft de-icing fluids as required;
Perform daily Vehicle walk-around inspections utilizing appropriate checklists;
Promote the best interests of the company by fostering goodwill and support between IDS and its customers, ensuring Inland's policy of superior service and satisfaction are met;
Provide support to other areas of the business, including within the fluid processing facility, when required
Accomplish any other tasks that may, from time to time, be assigned by management
Required
Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED;
Minimum 18 years of age;
Basic computer skills and ability to use a laptop/iPad Working knowledge of Microsoft programs
Ability to read, write, speak and communicate efficiently in English Valid driver's license (Class 3 considered an asset)
Clean driver's abstract
Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP)
Additional Info:
Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
Must have ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 20 pounds regularly; occasionally up to 50 pounds
Must be physically fit and able to perform all operational requirements
Must be comfortable working in a confined space for extended periods of time
Must be comfortable working at heights
