About the Role:

Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier, On-call Relief 1  On a delivery shift, you'll sort the mail for your assigned route, then drive it to completion in  your own vehicle .
You'll handle parcels weighing up to  50 lb (22.7 kg) , collect outgoing mail from customers, and process Canada Post products and services such as  Change of Address Notifications, Damaged Mail reports, and Items Delivered Bills . You're expected to wear  Canada Post identification  visibly throughout your shift.
Because routes pass through communities you'll get to know well, you'll build and maintain familiarity with  local roads, delivery receptacles, and customers .
Mail must be kept  safely secured  in your possession at all times, and every interaction with the public calls for a  courteous and professional manner . Canada Post describes this position as potentially  Safety Sensitive , which means additional requirements apply under its Substance Use Policy.

Responsibilities  The duties for this position cover the  full delivery cycle : sorting mail before the route, driving it to completion, and handling customer-facing transactions along the way.
