Job Summary
The Shipping/Receiving Associate plays a crucial role in managing the movement of goods within the facility. This position involves handling incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying inventory, and ensuring accurate documentation for shipping and receiving processes.
Shipping Responsibilities
Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and organizing items for dispatch.
Verify shipping details, match items for packing lists, and ensure proper documentation for carriers.
Receiving Responsibilities
Receive incoming shipments, unload deliveries, and verify received items against purchase orders.
Inspect incoming goods for damage, accuracy, and quality, and report discrepancies as needed.
Inventory Management
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by updating systems or logs for incoming and outgoing shipments.
Organize and store received items in designated storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
Order Fulfillment Support
Assist in fulfilling orders by locating and retrieving items from inventory as per picking lists.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely order fulfillment and accurate shipment preparation.
Assist in fulfilling international orders.
Compliance and Safety
Adhere to safety protocols and warehouse procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, hazardous material handling, and safety guidelines.
Accountabilities
Accurate handling of shipping and receiving processes, ensuring proper documentation and inventory accuracy.
Maintain organized shipping/receiving areas and support efficient order fulfillment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
Familiarity with shipping software, inventory management systems, and MS Office applications.
Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and solid organizational skills.
Good communication skills to interact with team members and follow shipping/receiving instructions.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in logistics or a related field is an advantage.
1–2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred.
Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, and obtain MHE certification is a requirement.
Understanding of safety procedures, basic math skills, and the ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
Working Conditions
Physical effort required, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs.
Work with cannabis products.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and after hours as required.
Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and forearms.
Full PPE in production area includes booties, coveralls, gloves, hairnet, glasses, and surgical mask.
Comfortable performing duties outside in all weather conditions.
Able to prioritize tasks efficiently in fast-paced workplaces.
Operational Standards
This role is in one of Aurora’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified plants and works directly with products. Towards the end of the recruitment process, a medical screening exam with a third‑party vendor is required.
