WAREHOUSE TECHNICIAN - Island Gold District

Role Overview /

Purpose:

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Technician – Major Consumables is responsible for managing the receiving, storage, inventory control, and distribution of critical operational materials required to support mine operations. These materials include major consumables such as fuel, lubricants, mill reagents, tires, drilling supplies, and other high-volume materials essential for surface, mill, and underground operations.
The role ensures that all materials are received, recorded, stored, and issued accurately through SAP inventory transactions while maintaining strict adherence to established warehouse procedures, safety standards, and inventory control requirements. The Warehouse Technician plays a key role in maintaining reliable inventory levels and ensuring that operational departments receive the materials required to maintain safe and uninterrupted production.
The position requires frequent interaction with internal stakeholders across operational departments and supply chain functions, requiring a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and effective communication. The Warehouse Technician supports inventory counts, receiving activities, and warehouse operations while ensuring that all material handling and inventory processes comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and established quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

Coordinate the receiving, storage, and distribution of major operational consumables including fuel, lubricants, mill reagents, tires, drilling supplies, and other critical materials required to support mine operations.
Ensure all incoming materials are received, inspected, and recorded accurately in SAP, verifying purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
Process SAP Goods Receipts (GRN), inventory transactions, and service entries with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Maintain accurate inventory records and adequate stock levels for major consumables to ensure uninterrupted operational support for mill, surface, and underground departments.
Support inventory management activities, including cycle counts, physical inventory counts, reconciliation of discrepancies, and inventory audits.
Conduct research and investigation of material records within SAP, assisting with item identification, material master data verification, and inventory traceability.
Coordinate the distribution and issuing of major materials to operational departments while ensuring compliance with warehouse procedures and inventory control requirements.
Verify purchase order details, supplier documentation, and delivery information to ensure materials are received and processed correctly within the ERP system.
Assist the Supply Chain department with service entry processing, documentation, and administrative inventory transactions.
Provide responsive customer service to operational departments, ensuring materials are available and issued efficiently to support operational reliability.
Maintain proper documentation and inventory records for audit purposes, ensuring compliance with company policies, warehouse procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Support general warehouse operations, including material handling, receiving activities, and safe operation of warehouse equipment when required.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and

Experience:

Minimum of 1-3 years experience in warehouse in an industrial setting (mining is preferred).
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with inventory and management software applications such as SAP.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Cross cultural work experience is an asset.
Must be able lift a minimum of 25lbs
Excellent time management and organization skills including ability to prioritise.
Rotation  7 on / 7 off – Rotating day and nights at the Island Gold Mine site
Compensation range: $62,250 to $112,150 annually
The compensation range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
