Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Manual Gear Cutter position in Canby, OR. • Set up and operate manual gear cutting machines (including hobbing, shaping, or milling equipment) to produce gears according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to ensure accurate gear dimensions and tolerances.
• Select proper tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job and make necessary machine adjustments.
• Monitor machining operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to production schedules.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Maintain machines through routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventative maintenance.
• Identify and troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, or dimensional deviations.
• Accurately document production data, measurements, and any adjustments made during the process.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or machining coursework preferred.
• Prior experience operating manual gear cutting or related machining equipment is required.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including overtime as needed.

• Competitive hourly wage based on experience. $35-$55 DOE.
