• Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger bags groceries at checkout for customers and strives for efficiency and accuracy.
• Bag items carefully to prevent damage and manage multiple bag types (reusable, plastic, paper).
• Assist in removing customer merchandise from bottom of bascarts for checkout and help with loading bags into customers’ cars when needed.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves and gather bascarts for designated areas.
• Clean spills, collect trash inside the store and in the parking lot; maintain cleanliness of all areas inside and outside the store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise; understand store layout and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions or issues to management.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines; practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needs for repair.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and store wide.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment; manage conflicts professionally and with integrity.
• Follow directions and seek assistance as needed to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
