Transdev North America is hiring a Canby Area Transit Dispatcher / CDL Driver in Canby, Oregon.
Dispatcher & Driver/OperatorWe are looking for an experienced Bus Driver to join our elite team. You will be responsible for ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for passengers while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.
Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement- $25.50 – $31.00 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale)
- Starting pay $25.50 to $28.00, depending on experience
- Vacation: up to 14 days per year
- Paid Sick Leave: 8 hrs monthly full‑time employees; medical, dental & vision after 90 calendar days; life insurance, 401(k) retirement benefits, and company holidays.
- Execute flawless operations by following designated routes and schedules, while adhering to safety protocols and traffic regulations.
- Provide exceptional care to passengers, ensuring smooth boarding, comfortable rides, and timely disembarkation.
- Perform comprehensive pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, report maintenance issues, and maintain cleanliness and safety equipment readiness.
- Uphold company policies: seat belt enforcement, emergency response, regulatory compliance.
- Oversee road service carriers by tracking trip performance, ensuring routes begin on time, handling incidents, etc.
- Respond to customer questions and concerns regarding trips, including no shows, cancellations, and missed trips.
- Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators and coordinate with carriers and emergency services.
- Review route performance and proactively respond to situations that impact customer service.
- Other duties as required.
- 21 years or older.
- Valid CDL Class A or B with passenger and airbrake endorsement.
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical; DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis.
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions (100% outside, often in remote locations).
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours); walk long distances, often on sloped or uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50 lbs.; lift material up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch.
- Withstand heavy traffic and exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
- Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
