Surety Bond Account Manager
Position Summary: The primary function of this role is to support the bond issuance process from initial client notification through execution. This position requires detailed knowledge of internal systems and protocols, familiarity with surety companies and underwriting practices, and a general understanding of the commercial and contract surety industry. The role is essential in ensuring timely and accurate service to clients and underwriters while maintaining documentation and compliance.
Responsibilities- Fully understand internal protocols for the bond issuance process from initial client notification through completion.
- Accurately follow notation and data entry procedures in both Bond Wizard and Image Right.
- Execute requested bonds and prepare supporting materials as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all surety companies, their underwriters, books of business, operating territories, capacity, and underwriting appetites.
- Review and update internal client information stored on the shared bond drive, including awareness of each client’s credit program limits.
- Demonstrate a foundational understanding of the commercial and contract surety industry.
- Understand how surety underwriters evaluate corporate financial statements.
- Identify required documentation to maintain a complete contract surety file.
- Read and interpret contractor work‑on‑hand project schedules.
- Provide weekly status reports summarizing key activities, accomplishments, and completed tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Prior experience in bond processing, surety operations, or insurance operations preferred.
- On-the-job training and mentorship will supplement formal experience.
- Coursework or pursuit of professional designations such as AFSB (Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding) is encouraged.
- Familiarity with surety bond terminology, processes, and industry practices.
- Proficiency with Bond Wizard, Image Right, Applied Epic and shared drive file management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn through hands‑on training, collaboration with industry underwriters, and self‑directed study.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, as permitted by law.
Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (Hybrid Work Schedule)
