We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of pressure vessels, pressure pipework, heat exchangers, fabrication jigs and fixtures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop pressure vessels, pressure pipework, and heat exchangers in accordance with ASME III, ASME VIII, PD 5500, and BS EN 12952.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet client requirements and specifications.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
• Conduct design calculations and simulations to ensure structural integrity and performance.
• Perform stress analysis and material selection for pressure vessel and pipework designs.
• Review and improve existing designs to optimize functionality, cost, and manufacturability.
• Ensure all designs comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation and project records.
Key Requirements:
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical design, specifically in the design of pressure vessels, pressure pipework, and heat exchangers.
• Strong knowledge of ASME III, ASME VIII, PD 5500, and BSEN 12952.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD).
• Experience with stress analysis and material selection for pressure equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Due to the nature of the work and security clearance requirements set by the UK Government, this role is only open to British nationals who are eligible for security vetting under the relevant national security guidelines. Applicants will be required to undergo security clearance in accordance with UKSV procedures.

Desirable
Skills:
• Experience in the power generation, oil and gas, chemical, or energy industries.
• Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership with a recognized engineering body (e.g., IMechE or IED).
