Alliance Personnel are seeking a dedicated Brake Press Setter/Operator to join one of their clients based in Cannock. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining brake presses to accurately form sheet metal components according to specifications.

Your expertise will ensure high-quality production, efficient workflow, and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills in fabrication processes, contributing to commitment to precision and excellence in metalworking.

Duties

* Set up brake presses by selecting appropriate tooling and adjusting machine parameters based on detailed work instructions and technical drawings.

* Operate brake presses to bend, form, and shape sheet metal components with precision and consistency.

* Conduct routine inspections of tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.

* Perform quality checks on finished parts, verifying dimensions and tolerances using basic math skills and measurement tools.

* Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all safety protocols are followed during operation.

* Troubleshoot mechanical issues or setup problems promptly to minimize downtime.

* Document production activities accurately and communicate any discrepancies or equipment concerns to supervisors.

Skills

* Strong mechanical knowledge

* Proficiency in operating sheet metal machinery such as brake presses and familiarity with tooling setup.

* Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions clearly.

* Skilled in using hand tools for adjustments, maintenance, or minor repairs.

* Basic math skills for measuring parts and calculating dimensions or angles.

* Knowledge of safety standards related to metalworking machinery and fabrication environments.

* Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report issues efficiently.

Working hours:

Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4pm, Friday 7:30am - 1pm (40hrs per week)

Permanent role after 12 weeks
