Position: KMMS-113-26 - Student Procedures and Quality Coordinator

Please note: this opportunity is only available to current employees of the University of Kent or Canterbury Christ Church University.

Do you have proven administration experience within an educational or professional services environment? Do you have experience developing and maintaining policies and procedures and are able to refer or escape issues? If yes, then this part time fixed term role may be of interest.

Kent and Medway Medical School are seeking a Student Procedures and Quality Coordinator on a part time, fixed term contract until July 2028. In this role, you will provide professional and wide‑range administrative support to the Student Procedures and Quality Officer in the management of student procedures, including professionalism issues, academic misconduct, appeals and complaints. The post holder will support the maintenance of case files and records, coordinate student meetings, and provide administrative support for quality assurance activities.

Managing student procedures is a critical component of Kent and Medway Medical School's meeting of General Medical Council (GMC) standards whilst aligning with the University's aims to build and maintain a supportive, safe, and enjoyable environment for its students.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support for student procedure cases, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records are maintained.
  • Provide clear and accurate advice and guidance to academics, professional service colleagues and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with both School and university regulations.
  • Support the effective coordination and administration of student, staff and governance meetings, including scheduling, preparing documentation, taking minutes or notes and distributing records to relevant stakeholders.
  • Act as point of contact for enquiries relating to student procedures, responding promptly and professionally, providing information and signposting to students and staff as appropriate, and escalating queries to the Student Procedures and Quality Officer when required.
Qualifications
  • Educated to A Level or equivalent qualification, including GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent.
  • Experience of providing administrative support in an educational or professional services environment.
  • Experience of organising and coordinating meetings, including taking minutes or notes.
  • Ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.

We particularly welcome applications from black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates as they are under‑represented at this level in this area. The University of Kent values diversity and equality at all levels.
