The Residence Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Canterbury, responsible for supporting the smooth daily operation of a student residence. This role involves acting as a key point of contact for residents, responding to queries, coordinating move-ins and move-outs, and supporting a welcoming, inclusive community. The Residence Coordinator will assist with front-of-house duties, manage bookings and documentation, and liaise with maintenance and housekeeping teams to address service requests promptly.
They will help implement residence policies, support health and safety procedures, and contribute to organizing events and communications that enhance the resident experience. The role requires proactive problem-solving, clear communication, and effective collaboration with colleagues and external partners.
- Experience in residential, hospitality, or student accommodation operations, including resident or customer-facing responsibilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and manage sensitive situations professionally.
- Organizational and administrative skills, including managing records, using property management or CRM systems, and handling multiple tasks efficiently.
- Customer service mindset, with a focus on responsiveness, problem-solving, and delivering a high-quality resident experience.
- Understanding of basic health, safety, and security practices in residential environments; willingness to follow and enforce policies and procedures.
- Ability to work on-site in Canterbury on a consistent schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends as required by residence operations.
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets); comfort learning new digital tools and systems.
- Previous experience in student housing, property management, or community coordination is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Relevant education or training in property management, hospitality, administration, or a related field is beneficial.
