Overview
East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Haematologist. The closing date is 19 July 2026.
Main duties- This is a full-time post (10 programmed activities per week).
- Provide outpatient care as appropriate, including 3 outpatient clinics per week (Haematology/Haemato-oncology). The post is based at Kent and Canterbury Hospital and William Harvey Hospital, with attendance at weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and participation in 1 in 7 Haemato-Oncology/General on-call and ward-attending rota. Separate on-call rotas exist for Haem-oncology/general and Haemostasis teams. There is a full middle-grade on-call rota in addition to which we provide support.
- Provide clinical interpretation of haematological laboratory tests and offer advice to clinical colleagues. This role also provides Haematologist support to the Haematology laboratories.
- Participation in clinical audit and other departmental clinical governance activities, and activities to support appraisal and revalidation.
- The post-holder may be required to undertake other duties appropriate for a consultant haematologist not otherwise specified.

Person Specification Qualifications and training- Full and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practice) with the General Medical Council.
- UK-trained applicants must also hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
- Non-UK trained applicants must show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT by date of interview.
- MRCP or equivalent.
- FRCPath or equivalent.
- Minimum English level 2 (GCSE grade C or equivalent), IELTS, or graduate of a UK Medical School.
- Evidence of diagnosing and treating haemato-oncology disorders.
- Evidence of laboratory experience.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure to be submitted to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £113,565 to £150,569 per annum (pro rata where applicable).
