Early Years Teacher (Start January 2026)

Key Responsibilities- Pedagogy and Curriculum
- Thorough knowledge of the requirements of the EYFS curriculum with an interest or experience in other curriculum forms a benefit.
- Ability to support the Head of School and the senior leadership team in developing and delivering an outstanding Early Years curriculum.
- Keen interest in child development and neuro‑science.
- Collegiate approach. Working in partnership with other classroom teachers to develop rich and engaging lessons through direct teaching and project based learning.
- Document the experiences of all children by making learning visible to children and families, including children’s voices.
- Use assessment and reporting to develop the highest levels of wellbeing and involvement.
- Prepare and analyse attainment and progress data to inform teaching and learning.
- Build on the interests of children through active listening and participating in their play.
- Use technology with children as a tool for learning, organising ideas and sharing with the wider community.
- Take advantage of spontaneous situations and be flexible and knowledgeable to extend learning during these periods.
- Welfare and Safeguarding
- Excellent knowledge in the area of safeguarding and child protection.
- Maintain the highest standards of care, building positive relationships and ensuring that each child has a sense of belonging within their classroom and learning environment.
- Evidence of a commitment to excellence and the maximising of academic and personal achievements of all pupils, including those with additional needs.
- Partnership with Families and Wider Community
- Build authentic relationships with families, knowing they can lead to greater learning outcomes for children.
- Communicate with families and the wider community about the Early Years curriculum, including open days, presentations, workshops and parent meetings.
- Be an ambassador for KSV and The King’s School, Canterbury, both in Phnom Penh and more broadly.
- Professional Conduct
- Model and promote the KSV vision and values.
- Communicate effectively and professionally, orally and in writing, with colleagues and all stakeholders.
- Take full responsibility and engagement to ensure all aspects of professional obligations are discharged.
- Adhere to all procedures and policies as outlined in the Staff Handbook.
- Be an ambassador for KSV and The King’s School, Canterbury, both in Phnom Penh and more broadly.
- Bachelor’s degree, PGCE or PGCEi or equivalent in any field.
- English (Native language or proficiency).
- Experience in teaching Early Years’ education in the UK or Ireland (state or independent sectors).
- Experience of high standards of early years/primary classroom practice.
- Experience working in multi‑cultural or international settings.
- Familiarity with School Management Information Systems and an open mind to the use of data in schools, together with a willingness to learn new systems. Confident in Microsoft Office.
- Growth mind‑set for continuous professional improvement to meet or exceed expectations.
- Strong ability to embrace change and to work to tight timelines.
- Embrace agency and accountability.
