1:1 Reception Teaching Assistant Canterbury

Academics are seeking a caring and patient 1:1 Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Canterbury. This is a rewarding role supporting a Reception pupil who requires additional guidance to thrive both emotionally and academically during their first year of school.

• Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Reception pupil throughout the school day

• Assist with play-based and structured EYFS learning activities

• Encourage early development in communication, social skills, and phonics

• Support the child with emotional regulation and routines

• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider EYFS team

• Help maintain a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment

• Experience in EYFS or supporting young children

• Warm, patient, and reliable approach

• Understanding of early childhood development and SEN support

• Strong communication and ability to follow individual support plans

• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
