Fixed-Term Project Lead (Registered Teacher)

Cheviot Area School is seeking an experienced registered teacher to lead a fixed-term project that strengthens our MoE/ERO data use, internal evaluation, monitoring and school assurance systems
.

This is a hands‑on leadership role working closely with the Principal, SLT and staff to bring clarity, consistency and strong evidence of impact for learners across a Year 0–13 area school
.

Key focus areas include:

  • strengthening how we collect, analyse and use MoE/ERO data (progress, achievement, attendance, wellbeing, learning support)
  • developing practical internal evaluation tools and cycles aligned to ERO expectations
  • improving monitoring and follow-through for priority learners
  • producing clear, concise reporting and assurance summaries (board‑ready where required)
  • streamlining documentation and processes so they are efficient, coherent and sustainable

We are looking for someone who:

  • is a NZ registered teacher with a current practising certificate
  • has proven experience leading improvement or evaluation work to deadlines ideally with change management experience
  • has strong capability in internal evaluation, implementation monitoring and evidence building
  • writes exceptionally well (clear, accurate, audience‑appropriate)
  • builds trust quickly and works collaboratively across a whole‑school team
  • has experience in an area school

This role is ideal for a teacher with strong systems thinking who enjoys turning complex requirements into simple, workable processes that lift outcomes for students.
