Position: KMMS-091-26 - Lecturer in Medical Education (Scholarship, Student Choice & Research Ethics)

Are you experienced in the principles of medical scholarship, student choice and research ethics? Have you experienced teaching Clinical Healthcare Professional learners to undergraduate or postgraduate level in a clinical or academic setting? If so, we’d welcome an application from you.

We are seeking a motivated educator to join the Vertical Theme team in designing and delivering the Scholarship, Scientific Enquiry and Student Choice aspects of our programme, and to contribute to our Research Ethics processes. Working on the campus sites of both the partner universities in Canterbury and Medway, the role will make a major contribution to the undergraduate scholarship vertical theme which spans all 5 years of the programme and prepares students according to GMC standards for future professional practice.

As

Lecturer in Medical Education (Scholarship, Student Choice & Research Ethics), you can expect to be involved in:
  • Working in close partnership with the academic and professional services teams responsible for Scholarship and Scientific Enquiry and Student Choice, as well as the KMMS research office, and staff undertaking research.
  • Championing research ethics, medical scholarship and Student Choice within the medical school.
  • Delivering and contributing to the design and delivery of high-quality, demand-driven, and student‑centred taught programmes.
What will you bring to the role?
  • An evidence‑based working knowledge of the principles of medical scholarship, student choice and research ethics
  • A primary degree or equivalent in a subject related to the undergraduate medical programme at KMMS
  • A postgraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience in a subject relevant to the BM BS programme
  • Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in scholarship and statistics, and student choice, to work within the BM BS teaching programme
