With sustained roll growth reflecting a vibrant local economy, our College has been allocated resourcing to appoint an Asssociate Principal to support our Principal in the strategic and operational leadership of the College.

While supporting the Principal in a range of ways, a specific focus will be on teaching and learning practice to lift student achievement, and the person appointed will be expected to work closely with the other members of the senior leadership team and middle leaders in this work.

We have identified key person specifications in potential applicants for the role:

• an approachable and relational leader who leads with integrity
• an empathetic, compassionate and listening approach
• an active promoter for a range of cultures noting a growing refugee and ESOL population within the College
• a champion for equity and inclusive practice recognising diversity as a positive at the College
• someone who earns respect through their actions and behaviours
• pedagogical strength understanding effective, inclusive teaching and learning, use data wisely and with high expectations.

Mid Canterbury is an amazing place in which to live, work and play. We are an easy drive to the Mt Hutt ski field and Ōpuke hot pools in Methven while Christchurch is an hour north and Timaru an hour south. There are a range of mountains and lakes available for water sports/ fishing/ tramping/hunting/biking etc nearby and the climate caters for all activities.
