Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College is seeking a fixed term, experienced, motivated, and relationship-focused Specialist Learning Support Teacher to support targeted numeracy interventions and diverse learners across our school.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver numeracy intervention groups for students requiring accelerated progress, using evidence-based practices.
  • Provide specialist support for ORS-funded students, including individualised programme planning, in-class guidance, and collaboration with external specialists.
  • Offer specialist in-class teaching as needed, modelling effective strategies and supporting classroom teachers.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong expertise in numeracy teaching and intervention strategies.
  • Brings a deep understanding of diverse learning needs, including experience working with ORS or high-needs students.
  • Builds warm, positive relationships with students, staff, whānau, and external agencies.
  • Holds a current NZ teaching registration and is familiar with the updated New Zealand Curriculum.
